How can you help?

Leeds Animal Protection is predominantly a campaigning group, and, as such, our core purpose is to educate people and obtain their support for our campaigns. Our key activity is holding stalls, where we provide visitors with information, and where they can show their support by signing petitions and the like. The  most direct way in which someone can participate in our work, therefore, is to help at stalls by speaking to visitors, providing them with campaign information and encouraging them to sign our petitions.

We do, of course, understand that there are people who would like to help with animal rights, but are unable to attend stalls.  There are, however, many other ways in which you can help that are equally vital, for example:

  • donate good quality goods for us to sell on stalls or include in our tombola
  • make gifts (such as jewellery) or cards for us to sell on stalls or include in our tombola
  • organise fundraising events on behalf of LAP, such as car boot sales or table top sales
  • let us know about events in the Leeds area where we may be able to hold a stall
  • design and/or make "props" for our stalls, such as animal costumes, which will draw attention and help us to make the most of our stalls
  • compose press releases or newsletters on behalf of LAP
  • help with transport of equipment and materials, and/or setting up
  • promote LAP and/or our campaigns in their place of business, etc.
  • make equipment for stalls
  • design promotional material, e.g. leaflets, posters and the like
  • invite us to events at which we can either speak or have a stall
  • cater for, or provide space/location in which to hold, an event - either campaigning, fund-raising or social

If you would like to help animals and are able to provide assistance in any of these areas, or if you have your own idea of how you might be able to help us, then please do get in touch
